So a couple things. Just got back from Michael and Avelene's wedding and it was fantastic! The ceremony was at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in downtown LA. More than one person agreed that it's just amazing how you can find a huge, beautiful church smack dab in the middle of it all. Seriously. You can not comprehend how huge and beautiful this place is without being there as the hugeness and beautifulness cannot be conveyed in mere pictures or words. Stained glass abounds and the eye follows the pillars up to the high vaulted ceilings, catching the stained glass on all sides on the way up. The pews are all movie theater style seating but old school and covered with velvet. The wood all over looks well used and well maintained, the wear accumulating as readily as wax to polish everything until it glows.
Michael and Avelene had a moderately long ceremony officiated by the Schodorf's family friend Doc. Doc was eloquent and spoke with authority and aplomb whether quoting relevant scripture or admonishing both halves of the couple to cherish each other. They exchanged the vows they had written and then they were Mr. & Mrs. Michael & Avelene. Unfortunately they weren't miced so we couldn't hear that part of the ceremony but I suspect it was very personal and very touching.
